Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Port Hope Panthers defeated the Campbellford Rebels in a shootout 6-5 (1-0 SO). The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.Port Hope saw a three-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. The Panthers made the score 4-1 on a goal by Jacob Spicer at 12:58 in the second period. Campbellford evened things up at 5-5 on a goal by Andy Paul at 19:49 in the third period. Port Hope was paced by Josh Fulford, who finished with one goal and one assist. Fulford scored on the power play 9:22 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Port Hope. The Panthers had taken the advantage when the Rebels' Cole Hamilton got sent off for interference. Matt Trudel assisted on the tally. Port Hope racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game the Panthers had been spending in the box. Campbellford was unable to stop Port Hope from sending pucks towards the net, and the Panthers eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Port Hope also got points from Trudel, who also registered one goal and one assist and Chandler Gillespie, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Port Hope also got a goal from chris roy as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Connor Turland, Riley Turland, and Mike Smith, who contributed one a piece and Kyle Sullivan and Dylan Baxter, who each chipped in two. The Rebels' offense rang up 52 shots on Port Hope's net. Campbellford could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. The Rebels were helped by Ryan Crowley, who had two goals. Crowley scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 5:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Port Hope. Campbellford earned a power play opportunity when Baxter was put in the box for roughing. Hamilton picked up the assist. Crowley's next tally on the power play made the score 4-4 with 6:49 left in the third period. Jon Samis assisted on the tally.
