Hamilton nets hat trick, leads Campbellford to 12-1 win over Deseronto

Cole Hamilton lifted the Campbellford Rebels to a 12-1 victory with a hat trick against the Deseronto Storm.

Hamilton notched his first tally 16:40 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:02 into the second and at 15:55 into the second.

Campbellford made Storm's goaltenders to work all game long, taking 62 shots and forcing 50 saves. Brock Tufts made 35 stops and Matt Lovelys made 15. The Rebels excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Campbellford surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Rebels have scored at the pace of 4.7 goals per game during the current campaign.

Campbellford additionally got points from Ryan Crowley, who also had two goals and three assists, Joshua Leavey, who also registered one goal and two assists, Jon Samis, who also tallied one goal and one assist, TJ Paterson (APM), who also had three goals and two assists to lead the team in points, and Mitch Burke, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Steven Clarke also scored for Campbellford. More assists for Campbellford came via Jordan Boutilier, who had two, Mitchell Merry, who had three, jeremy dorghty, who had four, and Derek Shields, Matt Scott, and Grant Fry, who each chipped in one.

Deseronto managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Storm wound up below its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game.

Cole Mahoney made 23 saves for Campbellford on 24 shots. The Rebels incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
