Amherstview squeaks by Napanee, 5-3

The Amherstview Jets and the Napanee Raiders were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Amherstview made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Brody Taylor at 2:28 of the third period.

The Jets got the win with help from a great game by Taylor, who had one goal and two assists.

Amherstview also got points from Cody Jodoin, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Brett Feddes APM, who also registered one goal and one assist. Zach Masterson also scored for Amherstview. In addition, Amherstview received assists from Ryan Poirier, who had three and Jaylon Gorman, Kyle Pengelly, and Josh Leblanc, who each chipped in one.

Napanee was helped by Jordan Cannons, who had one goal. Cannons scored on the power play 15:44 into the second period to make the score 3-3. The Raiders earned a power play opportunity when Pengelly was put in the box for roughing. Mason Conley picked up the assist. Napanee additionally got points from Ryan Casselman, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Napanee also got a goal from Bud Norris as well. More assists for Napanee came via Austin Boulard, who had two and Tyler Romain and Will Peirson, who contributed one a piece.

Trpy Paquette made 27 saves for Amherstview on 30 shots. The Jets totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Josh Lasher rejected 22 shots on goal for Napanee. The Raiders totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
