Campbellford vanquishes Napanee in shootout, 6-5 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Campbellford Rebels defeated the Napanee Raiders in a shootout 6-5 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for 12 attempts between the teams. Napanee's shootout goal was scored by Austin Boulard. In addition to the clincher, Campbellford got a shootout goal from Ryan Crowley.

The Rebels' penalty kill excelled, as Campbellford gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Rebels stifled the Raiders' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Napanee was unable to stop Campbellford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rebels eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. Campbellford got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

The Rebels were led by Steven Clarke, who had two goals and one assist. Clarke scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 10:27 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Campbellford. Campbellford earned a power play opportunity when Boulard was put in the box for roughing. Crowley provided the assist. Clarke's next tally on the power play made the score 5-4 Campbellford with 11:39 left in the third period. Campbellford also got points from Cole Hamilton, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mitchell Merry also scored for Campbellford. Other players who recorded assists for Campbellford were Mitch Gibson, Joshua Leavey, and Mitch Burke, who contributed one a piece.

The Raiders' offense rang up 42 shots on the Rebels' net.

Napanee was led by Ryan Casselman, who tallied two goals. Casselman scored the first of his two goals at 1:01 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Napanee. Boulard assisted on the tally. Casselman's next tally made the score 4-4 with 8:34 left in the second period. Napanee additionally got points from Zach Knapp-Hermer, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Napanee also got a goal from Jordan Cannons as well. In addition, Napanee received assists from Bud Norris, Blade Grigg, Alex Leclerc, and Mason Conley, who each chipped in one.

Cole Mahoney rejected 37 shots on goal for Campbellford. The Rebels incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kyle Copeland recorded 35 saves for the Raiders. Napanee incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
