Campbellford beats Deseronto 5-4 as Boutilier gets hat trick

Jordan Boutilier netted a hat trick to lead the Campbellford Rebels over the Deseronto Storm, 5-4.

Boutilier got on the scoresheet 2:50 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:44 into the second and at 11:56 into the third.

Campbellford led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Rebels' Andy Paul's scored at 7:21 in the second period to put Campbellford up 4-1.

The Rebels' penalty kill excelled, as Campbellford gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Rebels stifled Deseronto's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Storm were unable to stop Campbellford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rebels eventually piled up 60 shots on goal.

Campbellford also got points from William Lameroux, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Paul, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Campbellford were Steven Clarke, who had two and Mitch Gibson, Joshua Leavey, and jeremy dorghty, who each chipped in one.

Deseronto put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Campbellford to score on any of its four power plays.

The Storm were led by Jared Boomhower, who had two goals. Boomhower scored the first of his two goals at 18:42 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brett Maracle provided the assist. Boomhower's next tally made the score 4-3 Campbellford with 1:29 left in the second period. Noah Sager assisted on the tally. Mitchell Thompson also scored for Deseronto. In addition, Deseronto received assists from Brandon Turner, who had one.

Kevin Valdas rejected 23 shots on goal for the Rebels. Campbellford incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brock Tufts made 55 saves for Deseronto on 60 shots. The Storm incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
