Port Perry's Evans deadly on offense in 5-2 win against GeorginaScugog Memorial Arena Sat, Feb 15, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Port Perry Mojacks relied on the scoring touch of Logan Evans, who netted two goals, to beat the Georgina Ice, 5-2. Evans found the back of the net 9:47 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Port Perry and again while on the power play 15:09 into the second to make the score 3-1 Port Perry.Port Perry forced Georgina goalie Ethan Slimkowich to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Port Perry also got points from Conner Shingler, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Port Perry included Kyle Powell and Ryan Bernardes, who scored one goal each. More assists for Port Perry came via Lucas Berkers, who had two and Ryan Nichols, Lucas Clark, Lee Taylor, Eric MacDonald, Kyle Schweda, and Ryan Beattie, who each chipped in one. The Ice were helped by Devon Smith, who had one goal. Smith scored 10:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Port Perry. Curtis Pulhalski picked up the assist. Georgina also got a goal from Ryan Kernahan as well. In addition, Georgina received assists from Cameron Nuttall and McKenzie Gray, who contributed one a piece. Drew Siydock made 20 saves for the Mojacks on 22 shots. Port Perry incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Slimkowich rejected 32 shots on goal for Georgina. The Ice incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Georgina ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brett Hembruff was ejected from the game.
