Clarington blows out Little Britain, 6-0

The Clarington Eagles had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-0 win over the Little Britain Merchants.

Austin Collins APM was all over the ice for Clarington, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Collins APM scored 10:09 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Clarington. Cody Kean picked up the assist.

The Eagles' defensive play was more effective than usual against Little Britain. Clarington allows 2.7 goals per game. The Eagles kept the Merchants' goalie busy throughout the game, and Justus Husak made 29 saves on 35 shots. Clarington surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Eagles average 3.9 goals per game.

Clarington also had goals scored by Jake Carier APM, who had two and Morisette APM Mack, Cole Murray, and Mitchell Burghardt APM, who each put in one. In addition, Clarington received assists from Brent Hambly, who had two and Dylan Howorko, Andrew Fedorwich, Riley O'Connell, and CJ Sharp, who each chipped in one.

Little Britain excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Merchants could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Little Britain averages 2.8 goals per game. The Merchants found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 12 shots against Clarington's defense.

Sharp rejected 12 shots on goal for the Eagles. Clarington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Little Britain incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
