The Lakefield Chiefs survived a determined comeback attempt by the Clarington Eagles on the way to a 3-2 win. Lakefield took a 3-1 lead during the second period, only to have Clarington storm back on a Brad Down goal 7:48 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Nathan Larson was all over the ice for the Chiefs, as he finished with two goals in the win. Lakefield did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Chiefs average 5.2 goals per game. The Eagles were unable to stop Lakefield from sending pucks towards the net, and the Chiefs eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Eric Oosting also scored for Lakefield. Other players who recorded assists for Lakefield were Shawn Mackie, Ryan Saunders, Travis Brault, and Derek Manley, who each chipped in one. Clarington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Clarington also got a goal from Cody Kean as well. More assists for Clarington came via Dylan Howorko and Jarod Holister, who contributed one a piece. Zach Wainman rejected 26 shots on goal for Lakefield. The Chiefs incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. CJ Sharp recorded 28 saves for the Eagles. Clarington incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
