Derek Manley netted a hat trick to lead the Lakefield Chiefs over the Georgina Ice, 6-0. Manley's first goal came 10:24 into the second period. He then added goals at 11:40 into the second and at 5:16 into the third.Lakefield led by only one goal at the end of the first period, but put the game away by scoring four goals in the second. The Chiefs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Georgina to score on any of its five power plays. Lakefield's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Chiefs allow 2.4 goals per game. Lakefield's offense rang up 36 shots on the Ice's net. Lakefield also got points from Ryan Saunders, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Nathan Larson, who also registered one goal and two assists. Lakefield also got a goal from Jordan Walsh as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lakefield were Devin Gilbert, who had two and Ryan Anderson, Eric Oosting, and Connor Blair, who each chipped in one. Georgina excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Ice's offense operated below they season average. Georgina averages 2.2 goals per game. Kevin Collins made 22 saves for the Chiefs on 22 shots. Lakefield incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Ethan Slimowitz recorded 30 saves for the Ice. Georgina incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
