Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Port Perry Mojacks defeated the Lakefield Chiefs in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO). The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams.Port Perry saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. The Mojacks made the score 3-1 on a power play goal by Lee Taylor at 11:59 in the third period. Lakefield evened things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Gregory Jesse at 19:54 in the third period. Port Perry made Chiefs' netminders to work without much rest, taking 41 shots and forcing 37 saves. Zach Wainman made 13 stops and Kevin Collins made 24. The Mojacks stifled the Chiefs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Port Perry was helped by Konrad Piorkowski, who had one goal. Piorkowski scored short handed 3:09 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Port Perry. A hooking call on Joe Lamanna put the Mojacks on the penalty kill. Conner Shingler provided the assist. Port Perry additionally got points from Owen Bateman, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Eric MacDonald and Jeff Julien, who each chipped in one. Lakefield did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Chiefs put an average of 5.2 pucks into the net per game. Lakefield kept Port Perry's goalie busy throughout the game, and Julien made 40 saves on 43 shots. The Chiefs were helped by Nathan Larson, who racked up one goal. Larson scored 18:09 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Port Perry. Travis Brault assisted on the tally. Lakefield also got a goal from Eric Oosting as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lakefield were Derek Manley, who had one and Connor Blair, who had two. The Mojacks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Lakefield incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
