Little Britain vanquishes Port Perry in shootout, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Little Britain Merchants defeated the Port Perry Mojacks in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams. Port Perry got a shootout goal from Kyle Powell. In addition to the clincher, Little Britain got a shootout goal from Kurtis Moore.

The Merchants could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Little Britain was helped by Nate Huhges, who had one goal. Huhges scored 15:59 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Little Britain. Little Britain also got points from Terry Snodden, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Little Britain also got a goal from Moore as well. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Brent Foster and Jesse Beers, who contributed one a piece.

The Mojacks forced the Merchants goalie Garrett Haden to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Port Perry was held back by its power play unit, which tallied two goals on nine chances. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

The Mojacks were led by Brodie Meyers, who tallied one goal and one assist. Meyers scored on the power play 11:07 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Port Perry had gotten the advantage when Little Britain's Snodden was sent off for tripping. Powell assisted on the tally. Port Perry also had goals scored by Ryan Nichols and Eric MacDonald, who scored one goal each. More assists for Port Perry came via Ryan Bernardes and Konrad Piorkowski, who each chipped in one.

Garrett Haden made 37 saves for the Merchants on 40 shots. Little Britain registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Drew Siydock rejected 18 shots on goal for the Mojacks. Port Perry incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
