Uxbridge beats Little Britain 4-3 after comeback scare

The Little Britain Merchants tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Uxbridge Bruins held on for a 4-3 victory.

Uxbridge took a 4-2 lead during the second period, only to have Little Britain storm back on a Terry Snodden goal 19:44 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Bruins' offense rang up 33 shots on the Merchants' net. Uxbridge's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Bruins finished with 56 penalty minutes.

Uxbridge was helped by Keegan McCarthy APM, who registered one goal. McCarthy APM scored 16:27 into the second period to make the score Uxbridge. Paul Henderson assisted on the tally. Uxbridge additionally got points from Connor Beck, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Uxbridge also had goals scored by Dylan Locke and Liam Blais APM, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Uxbridge were Jason Simmonds, Carter Vahey, and Adam Bartholomew, who contributed one a piece.

Little Britain could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 54 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Merchants were led by Kurtis Moore, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Moore scored on the power play 12:14 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Uxbridge. Little Britain had gained a power play chance when Korey Brand was whistled for abuse of officials. Snodden provided the assist. Little Britain also got points from Snodden, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Nate Huhges also scored for Little Britain. More assists for Little Britain came via Ben Marquis and Brett Doble, who each chipped in one.

Cody Northover rejected 20 shots on goal for the Bruins. Uxbridge registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. For the Bruins, Brand was ejected from the game. Garrett Haden recorded 29 saves for the Merchants. Little Britain registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. The Merchants ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Huhges was ejected from the game.
