Behind a great game by Jonathon Colley, who had two goals, the Georgina Ice defeated the Little Britain Merchants, 5-2. Colley found the back of the net 17:43 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Georgina and again while 17:59 into the first to make the score 3-0 Georgina.Georgina made Merchants' goaltenders to work in net, launching 39 shots and forcing 34 saves. Garrett Haden made 11 stops and David Hubers made 23. The Ice found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Georgina averages 2.4 goals per game. Team could not crack Little Britain's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 17 opportunities to play with the man advantage. The Ice could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game. Georgina also got points from Jody Nonnewitz, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Luke Vanderkooy, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brett thiessen also scored for Georgina. Other players who recorded assists for Georgina were Brett Thomson, Jesse Johnston, and Brandon Brown, who each chipped in one and Brandon Basler and Carver Ormiston, who contributed two a piece. The Merchants kept Georgina's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Richardson made 37 saves on 39 shots. Little Britain's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Merchants finished with 72 penalty minutes. Others who scored for Little Britain included Terry Snodden and Alex Moore, who each put in one. More assists for Little Britain came via Kurtis Moore, Jesse Beers, Brett Doble, and Cash Cormier, who each chipped in one. Little Britain registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
