The Lakefield Chiefs, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Lakefield and clinched a 4-2 victory. The Chiefs led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Lakefield's Pat Doherty APM's scored at 2:37 in the second period to put the Chiefs up 3-0. Lakefield forced the Clarington Eagles goalie CJ Sharp to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. The Chiefs were led by Derek Manley, who had one goal and one assist. Manley scored 19:46 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Lakefield. Ryan Anderson provided the assist. Lakefield also had goals scored by Eric Shewell and Travis Brault, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lakefield received assists from Josh Duggan, William Sullivan, Jordan Walsh, Ryan Saunders, and Nathan Larson, who each chipped in one. The Chiefs totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-1 on the power play. For Lakefield, Sullivan was ejected from the game. Sharp recorded 36 saves for the Eagles. Clarington incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
