Little Britain stifles Port Perry's comeback, gains 4-2 victory

The Port Perry Mojacks almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Little Britain Merchants managed to pull out a 4-2 win in the end.

Little Britain led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Merchants' Kyle ODonnell's scored at 13:51 in the first period to put Little Britain up 3-0.

Port Perry's power play was ineffective against the Merchants' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Little Britain's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Port Perry power plays. The Merchants' offense rang up 32 shots on the Mojacks' net.

Little Britain was led by Rory McDowell, who tallied one goal and one assist. McDowell scored 8:57 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Little Britain. Cash Cormier provided the assist. Little Britain also had goals scored by Jesse Craig AP and Kurtis Moore, who scored one goal each. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Terry Snodden and Brett Doble, who contributed one a piece.

Port Perry excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Mojacks forced the Merchants goalie Garrett Haden to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots.

Port Perry was helped by Lucas Berkers, who registered one goal. Berkers scored 3:08 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Little Britain. Lucas Clark assisted on the tally. Port Perry also got a goal from Ryan Nichols as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Perry were Joe Lamanna and Graham Lamers, who each chipped in one.

Garrett Haden made 45 saves for Little Britain on 47 shots. The Merchants incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. The Mojacks' Jeff Julien stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Port Perry incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
