Lakefield's Larson deadly on offense in 6-3 win against Little Britain

Nathan Larson was all over the ice for the Lakefield Chiefs, as he tallied two goals in Lakefield's 6-3 win over the Little Britain Merchants.

Larson scored at 9:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lakefield and again while short handed 13:24 into the first to make the score 2-0 Lakefield.

The Chiefs were efficient when they shot the puck, scoring their goals on only six shots.

Lakefield's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Little Britain power plays. The Chiefs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Lakefield additionally got points from Eric Oosting, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Lakefield included Ryan Saunders and Nick Hildebrant, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lakefield received assists from Ryan Anderson, William Sullivan, and Gregory Jesse, who each chipped in one and Connor Blair and Travis Brault, who contributed two a piece.

Little Britain stifled Lakefield's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Merchants were helped by Kyle ODonnell, who racked up one goal. ODonnell scored 17:47 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Lakefield. Brett Doble assisted on the tally. Little Britain also had goals scored by Terry Snodden and Kurtis Moore, who each put in one. More assists for Little Britain came via Jesse Craig AP and Cash Cormier, who each chipped in one.

The Chiefs registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. For Lakefield, Devin Gilbert was ejected from the game. Little Britain incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Merchants ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Rory McDowell was ejected from the game.
