Port Perry squeaks by Georgina, 4-2

The game between the Port Perry Mojacks and the Georgina Ice was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Port Perry emerged with a 4-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Lee Taylor's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Mojacks were sparked by Taylor, who racked up one goal and one assist. Taylor scored 13:40 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Port Perry. Logan Evans provided the assist.

Georgina was unable to stop Port Perry from sending pucks towards the net, and the Mojacks eventually piled up 51 shots on goal.

Port Perry also got points from Evans, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Joe Lamanna, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kyle Powell also scored for Port Perry. More assists for Port Perry came via Colton Hawko, Lucas Berkers, Conner Shingler, Konrad Piorkowski, and Brodie Meyers, who contributed one a piece.

The Ice's offense rang up 31 shots on Port Perry's net.

Georgina was helped by Carver Ormiston, who registered one goal. Ormiston scored 15:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Georgina. Jesse Johnston assisted on the tally. Georgina also got a goal from Brett thiessen as well. Other players who recorded assists for Georgina were Brett Thomson and Jonathon Colley, who each chipped in one.

The Mojacks' Drew Siydock stopped 29 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Port Perry incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Tyler Richardson made 47 saves for the Ice on 51 shots. Georgina incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Ice ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Curtis Puhalski was ejected from the game.
