Huge game by Walsh boosts Lakefield over Clarington, 7-3Lakefield-Smith CC Tue, Nov 26, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Lakefield Chiefs' Jordan Walsh had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 7-3 win over the Clarington Eagles. Walsh found the back of the net 7:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lakefield and again while 5:51 into the second to make the score 4-0 Lakefield.Lakefield forced Clarington goalie Connor Visca to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Lakefield also got points from Travis Brault, who also registered one goal and one assist and Derek Manley, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Lakefield also had goals scored by Eric Oosting and Ryan Saunders, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lakefield received assists from Devin Gilbert, Connor Blair, and Nathan Larson, who contributed one a piece and Gregory Jesse and Keenan Runnalis, who each chipped in two. The Eagles stifled the Chiefs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Clarington was led by Brent Hambly, who tallied one goal and one assist. Hambly scored 19:55 into the second period to make the score 5-2 Lakefield. Jarod Holister assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Clarington included Morisette APM Mack and Jesse Hewak, who each put in one. More assists for Clarington came via New Player and Mike Hibbard, who contributed one a piece. Zach Wainman rejected 17 shots on goal for Lakefield. The Chiefs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Visca recorded 28 saves for the Eagles. Clarington incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
