Uxbridge rips Georgina, 8-3

The Uxbridge Bruins had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-3 win over the Georgina Ice.

Tyson Eastgate was all over the ice for Uxbridge, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Eastgate scored 1:47 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Uxbridge. Dylan Locke picked up the assist.

Georgina's power play was ineffective against the Bruins' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Uxbridge's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Georgina power plays. The Bruins surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Uxbridge has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Uxbridge additionally got points from Marco Mastrangelo, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Uxbridge also had goals scored by Connor Beck, who had two and Justin Dube, Shane Smith, and Jarett Smith, who each put in one. More assists for Uxbridge came via Korey Brand, who had two, Carter Vahey, who had three, and Jason Simmonds, Tim Bierema, and Matt Pollard APM, who each chipped in one.

The Ice excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Georgina was led by Devon Smith, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Smith scored 13:40 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Uxbridge. Mack McLean provided the assist. Others who scored for Georgina included McKenzie Gray and Brett thiessen, who scored one goal each. In addition, Georgina received assists from Brett Thomson and Jonathon Colley, who contributed one a piece.

The Bruins ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major. The Ice ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major.
