Little Britain wins tough contest against Port Perry, 4-3Scugog Memorial Arena Sun, Nov 17, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Little Britain Merchants and the Port Perry Mojacks was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Little Britain emerged with a 4-3 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Terry Snodden secured the win for the Merchants with a goal in the third period. Snodden was all over the ice for Little Britain, as he had two goals in the win. Others who scored for Little Britain included Riley Jenkins and Cash Cormier, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Little Britain were Kurtis Moore, Greg ONeil, Brett Doble, and Rory McDowell, who contributed one a piece. Port Perry forced the Merchants goalie Garrett Haden to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. The Mojacks got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Port Perry was led by Brodie Meyers, who registered one goal and one assist. Meyers scored 1:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Perry. Ryan Beattie assisted on the tally. Port Perry also had goals scored by Lee Taylor and Eric MacDonald, who scored one goal each. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Conner Shingler, Kyle Powell, and Owen Bateman, who each chipped in one. Haden recorded 36 saves for Little Britain. The Merchants incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Mojacks' Jeff Julien stopped 21 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Port Perry incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
