Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Uxbridge Bruins defeated the Clarington Eagles in a shootout 4-3 (2-0 SO).

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams. Uxbridge also got a shootout goal from Dylan Locke.

The Bruins saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Uxbridge made the score 3-1 on a goal by Locke at 4:14 in the third period. Clarington evened things up at 3-3 on a goal by Mike Hibbard at 13:13 in the third period.

The Bruins pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 12 penalty minutes.

Uxbridge stifled the Eagles' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Bruins were helped by Tim Bierema, who tallied one goal. Bierema scored 3:13 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Uxbridge. Uxbridge also got a goal from Marco Mastrangelo as well. Other players who recorded assists for Uxbridge were Jarett Smith, who had two and Connor Beck and Tyson Eastgate, who contributed one a piece.

Clarington also had goals scored by Jarod Holister and Blane Gaudon, who each put in one. In addition, Clarington received assists from Riley O'Connell and Brad Down, who each chipped in one.

Uxbridge registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Clarington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Eagles ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mitchell Burghardt APM was ejected from the game.
