Slimowitz, Georgina blank Clarington, 3-0

The Georgina Ice used a sparkling performance by Ethan Slimowitz to take down the Clarington Eagles, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Georgina's 3-0 shutout victory.

The Ice pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 40 penalty minutes.

Georgina was paced by Curtis Puhalski, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Puhalski scored 4:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgina. JP Contento assisted on the tally.

The Ice stifled Clarington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Georgina also got points from Contento, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Georgina also got a goal from Brett Thomson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Georgina were Devon Smith, Mack McLean, and Jonathon Colley, who contributed one a piece.

The Eagles' offense operated below they season average. Clarington averages 3.5 goals per game. The Eagles' offense rang up 32 shots on Georgina's net. Clarington could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game.

Slimowitz recorded 32 saves for the Ice. Georgina registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. CJ Sharp took the loss and made 22 saves before being replaced by Connor Visca who made zero saves. The Eagles registered zero goals on eight power play opportunities.
