Uxbridge survives Port Perry comeback, wins 5-4

The Port Perry Mojacks tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Uxbridge Bruins would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

Uxbridge made the score 5-3 on a goal by Shane Smith at 14:26 in the third period, and Port Perry got as close as 5-4 when Ryan Nichols scored 19:37 into the third period.

Smith had a great game for the Bruins, netting two goals.

Uxbridge excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Uxbridge also had goals scored by Connor Beck, who had one and Jarett Smith, who had two. More assists for Uxbridge came via Matthew Allen, who had two and Carter Vahey, Adam Bartholomew, Liam Blais APM, Marco Mastrangelo, and Matt Pollard APM, who contributed one a piece.

The Mojacks were led by Kyle Schweda, who had two goals. Schweda scored the first of his two goals at 14:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Perry. Tyler Jennings picked up the assist. Schweda's next tally made the score 4-3 Uxbridge with 5:42 left in the third period. Port Perry also got a goal from Logan Evans as well. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Lucas Berkers, Lee Taylor, and Ryan Bernardes, who each chipped in one.

The Bruins incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Port Perry incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
