Port Perry penalty kill dominates in 3-1 defeat of Georgina

The Georgina Ice failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the Port Perry Mojacks shook off a number of penalties to win, 3-1.

Port Perry was paced by Graham Lamers, who grabbed one goal. Lamers scored 19:37 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Port Perry. Kyle Schweda provided the assist.

The Mojacks kept Georgina's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Richardson made 30 saves on 33 shots.

Port Perry also got points from Eric MacDonald, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Conner Shingler also scored for Port Perry. More assists for Port Perry came via Colton Hawko and Joe Lamanna, who each chipped in one.

Port Perry's defense shut down the Ice's forwards for much of the game, and Georgina got off only one shot during the contest.

The Ice were led by JD Leblond, who scored the team's only goal. Leblond scored on the power play 1:09 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Dylan Kovacs picked up the assist.

The Mojacks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Georgina incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
