Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Uxbridge Bruins defeated the Georgina Ice in a shootout 7-6 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams. Georgina's shootout goal was scored by Luke Vanderkooy. Uxbridge's other shootout goal was scored by Dylan Locke.

The Bruins saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Uxbridge made the score 5-3 on a goal by Matthew Allen at 19:05 in the second period. The Ice evened things up at 6-6 on a goal by Marco Mastrangelo at 19:54 in the third period.

The teams traded the lead four times and neither team could skate away and hide. Georgina took its last lead at 16:10 in the third on a goal by Vanderkooy to make the score 6-5 the Ice. The Bruins took over the lead for good with a goal by Liam Blais APM 5:44 into the second to make the score 4-3.

Uxbridge found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Bruins average 3.5 goals per contest. Uxbridge's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. The Bruins average 2.3 goals allowed per game.

Uxbridge also got points from Allen, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Mastrangelo, who also had one goal and two assists. Uxbridge also got a goal from Adam Bartholomew as well. Other players who recorded assists for Uxbridge were Jarett Smith, who had three and Jason Simmonds, Carter Vahey, Korey Brand, Tyson Eastgate, and Matt Pollard APM, who contributed one a piece.

Georgina stifled Uxbridge's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Ice's goal total was higher than their season average. Georgina averages 2.7 goals per game.

Georgina additionally got points from Dylan Kovacs, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Zachary Hawkins also scored for Georgina. More assists for Georgina came via JD Leblond, who had two and Brett Thomson, Jesse Johnston, Ryan Kernahan, Devon Smith, JP Contento, Jody Nonnewitz, and Jonathon Colley, who each chipped in one.

The Bruins incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Uxbridge ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brand was ejected from the game. The Ice incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
