Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Uxbridge Bruins defeated the Clarington Eagles in a shootout 2-1 (2-1 SO). The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout. Clarington got a shootout goal from Dylan Howorko. Uxbridge's other shootout goal was scored by Dylan Locke.The Bruins came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Uxbridge trailed 1-0 after a goal by the Eagles' Jarod Holister at 18:46 in the second period. The Bruins knotted things up at 1-1 on a goal by Marco Mastrangelo at 7:39 in the third period. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 6:52 into the third period. Three fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Uxbridge stifled Clarington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bruins were hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled nine minors and two majors for 28 minutes in penalty time. Other players who recorded assists for Uxbridge were Matthew Allen, who had one. The Eagles forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and two majors for 40 minutes in penalty time. Clarington surpassed its season average of 27.0 penalty minutes per game. The Eagles put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Uxbridge to score on any of its 10 power plays. More assists for Clarington came via Cody Kean and Mike Hibbard, who each chipped in one. For the Bruins, Korey Brand, Connor Beck, and Paul Henderson were ejected from the contest. Clarington registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. The Eagles ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Morisette APM Mack was ejected from the game.
