Uxbridge beats Little Britain 4-0 as Tjin gains shutout

The Uxbridge Bruins used a sparkling performance by Max Tjin to take down the Little Britain Merchants, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Uxbridge's 4-0 shutout victory.

The Bruins' penalty kill excelled, as Uxbridge gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Bruins were paced by Jason Simmonds, who registered one goal. Simmonds scored 16:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Uxbridge. Connor Beck provided the assist.

Uxbridge stifled Little Britain's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Merchants were unable to stop the Bruins from sending pucks towards the net, and Uxbridge eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.

Uxbridge also got points from Shane Smith, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Uxbridge also got a goal from Matthew Allen as well. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Carter Vahey, Adam Bartholomew, Dylan Locke, Tyson Eastgate, and Thomas Sheedy, who contributed one a piece.

Little Britain's offense operated below it season average. The Merchants put an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game. Little Britain struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 32 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays.

The Bruins' Tjin stopped 29 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Uxbridge incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Garrett Haden made 45 saves for the Merchants on 49 shots. Team's Mitch Brown and Ben Marquis were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
