Clarington downs Port Perry, 5-2

Cody Kean tallied one point to lead the Clarington Eagles to a 5-2 victory over the Port Perry Mojacks.

Clarington made Mojacks' netminders to work in net, launching 32 shots and forcing 27 saves. Drew Siydock made 12 stops and Jeff Julien made 15. The Eagles excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Clarington additionally got points from Brad Down, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Cole Murray also scored for Clarington. In addition, Clarington received assists from Brent Hambly, who had one and Morisette APM Mack and Jarod Holister, who each chipped in two.

Port Perry was held below its usual level of production. The Mojacks put an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game.

Port Perry was led by Ryan Nichols, who grabbed one goal. Nichols scored 7:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Perry. Graham Lamers provided the assist. Port Perry also got a goal from Kyle Powell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Perry were Tyler Jennings and Kyle Schweda, who contributed one a piece.

Clarington's CJ Sharp stopped 13 shots out of the 15 that he faced. The Eagles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Mojacks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
