Little Britain falls to Georgina in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Georgina Ice pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Little Britain Merchants on a clutch goal by Brett thiessen.

Georgina overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Ice fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Little Britain's Terry Snodden at 5:36 in the first period. Georgina tied things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Kurtis Moore at 15:50 in the third period.

In the losing effort, the Merchants were sparked by Moore, who tallied two goals and one assist. Moore scored the first of his two goals at 4:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Little Britain. Snodden picked up the assist. Moore's next tally made the score with 4:10 left in the third period. Little Britain had gotten the advantage when the Ice's Luke Vanderkooy was sent off for elbowing. Lucas Hickey AP assisted on the tally.

Georgina forced Merchants' goalies to work in net, launching 34 shots and forcing 30 saves. Justus Husak made zero stops and Garrett Haden made 30.

Georgina additionally got points from Devon Smith, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Brandon Basler, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Kyle Bricknell, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Georgina were Brandon Brown, who had two and Jesse Johnston and Jonathon Colley, who contributed one a piece.

Little Britain also got points from Snodden, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Brock Beers APM and Jesse Beers, who each chipped in one.

The Ice's Jake Francis stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Georgina totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. The Ice ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Curtis Puhalski was ejected from the game. The Merchants incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Team's Mitch Brown and Haden were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
