Toronto Lakeshore rips Mississauga, 5-1

The Mississauga Chargers had trouble finding ways to stop the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots, which beat Chargers, 5-1.

Toronto Lakeshore was led by Niko Kovachis, who grabbed one goal. Kovachis scored on the power play 17:39 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Toronto Lakeshore. The Patriots had gotten the advantage when Mississauga's Stefano Alonzi was sent off for interference. Brandon Willett picked up the assist.

Toronto Lakeshore forced the Chargers goalie Alex Lepore to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. The Patriots was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. Toronto Lakeshore got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Toronto Lakeshore additionally got points from Andreas Tsogkas, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Rory Bell, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Toronto Lakeshore included Tyler Enns and Kevin Shier, who each put in one. In addition, Toronto Lakeshore received assists from Robert Powers, who had two and Jacob Hayhurst, Marcus Rose, Nicholas Ursitti, and Michael Prapavessis, who each chipped in one.

Mississauga was held below its usual level of production. The Chargers put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game.

The Patriots' Evan Buitenhuis stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Toronto Lakeshore incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Alex Lepore made 33 saves for Mississauga on 38 shots. The Chargers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
