Early goals doom Orangeville, falls to xGeorgetown, 6-1

The Orangeville Flyers fell behind early, and the xGeorgetown Raiders kept piling on the points on the way to a 6-1 victory.

Orangeville threw everything it had at xGeorgetown's Michael Singh, but he responded by making 12 saves to secure the win.

The Raiders were sparked by Phil Kiss, who had one goal. Kiss scored 7:54 into the first period to make the score 2-0 xGeorgetown. Liam Clare provided the assist.

xGeorgetown kept the Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Rob Kopytek made 36 saves on 42 shots. The Raiders' goal total was higher than their season average. xGeorgetown has scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

xGeorgetown additionally got points from Steve Midensky, who also finished with two goals and one assist and Anthony Marra, who also racked up one goal and one assist. xGeorgetown also had goals scored by Scott Emerson and Andrew Court, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for xGeorgetown were Steve Hladin, who had two and Jordan Brown, Ryan Smith, Adam Mascherin, Brendan Jacome, and John Adams, who contributed one a piece.

Orangeville's offense rang up 32 shots on the Raiders' net.

Orangeville also got a goal from Devon Gillham as well. More assists for Orangeville came via Ryan Anton and Matt Mercer, who each chipped in one.

xGeorgetown incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Flyers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
