xTrenton downs xMilton, 5-2

The xTrenton Golden Hawks won 5-2 over the xMilton Icehawks.

xTrenton forced xMilton goalie Ben Blacker to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. The Golden Hawks were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 24 penalty minutes.

xTrenton was led by Brady Wiffen, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Wiffen scored 19:41 into the second period to make the score 3-1 xTrenton. Dylan Savory picked up the assist. Others who scored for xTrenton included Jason Zaleski, who had two and Mathew Thompson, Tyler Donaldson, and Fabrizio Ricci, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for xTrenton were Tyler Mayea, who had three and Danny Liscio, Bobby Polachek, Shaquille Hickey, Zach de Concilys, and Ryan Kinsella, who contributed one a piece.

The Icehawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 50 minutes in penalties during the game.

xMilton was led by Jake Baird, who finished with one goal. Baird scored 10:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 xMilton. Bryce Abraham assisted on the tally. xMilton also got a goal from Ryan Burns as well. In addition, xMilton received assists from Troy Saunders, who had one.

Denny Dubblestyne recorded 26 saves for the Golden Hawks. xTrenton registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Ben Blacker made 33 saves for the Icehawks on 38 shots. xMilton registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. The Icehawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jeremy Gottzmann was ejected from the game.
