xNorth York uses shootout to best yToronto Lakeshore, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the xNorth York Rangers defeated the yToronto Lakeshore Patriots in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The two teams needed eight turns to complete the shootout.

xNorth York overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Rangers trailed 2-1 after a goal by yToronto Lakeshore's Luke Carter at 8:16 in the third period. xNorth York tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Tye Campbell at 10:55 in the third period.

The Patriots were unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and xNorth York eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

xNorth York additionally got points from Corey Kalk, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for xNorth York were Patrick Piacentini, Gabriel Valenzuela, and Liam Kerins, who contributed one a piece.

yToronto Lakeshore's offense rang up 33 shots on the Rangers' net.

yToronto Lakeshore also got points from Niko Kovachis, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, yToronto Lakeshore received assists from Brandon Willett, Nicholas Ursitti, and Michael Prapavessis, who each chipped in one.

xNorth York's Jason Pucciarelli stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Rangers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Evan Buitenhuis rejected 41 shots on goal for the Patriots. yToronto Lakeshore incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
