xSt. Michaels rips xNewmarket, 5-2

The xSt. Michaels Buzzers were firing on all cylinders against the xNewmarket Hurricanes, and when the final buzzer sounded Buzzers emerged with a 5-2 win.

xSt. Michaels got the win on the strength of a great game by Jake Evans, who had one goal and two assists. Evans scored 7:58 into the second period to make the score 3-1 xSt. Michaels. Marco Ferraro picked up the assist.

The Buzzers' penalty kill excelled, as xSt. Michaels gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Buzzers stifled xNewmarket's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

xSt. Michaels also had goals scored by Ian Edmondson, David Italiano, Ashur Elliot, and Noah Jordan, who scored one goal each. In addition, xSt. Michaels received assists from CJ Shugart, who had two and Jordan Schneider, A.J. DOrazio, and Bron Loiselle, who contributed one a piece.

xSt. Michaels was unable to stop the Hurricanes from sending pucks towards the net, and xNewmarket eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

The Hurricanes were led by Ian Farrell, who racked up one goal. Farrell scored 7:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 xSt. Michaels. Jake Stirling assisted on the tally. xNewmarket also got a goal from Anthony Trujillo as well. Other players who recorded assists for xNewmarket were Christian Dedonato, who had one.

The Buzzers' George Argiropoulos stopped 37 shots out of the 39 that he faced. xSt. Michaels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Buzzers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Schneider was ejected from the game. xNewmarket's starting goalie, Jophrey Gregoire, made nine saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Bo Bessette, who stopped 11 shots. The Hurricanes incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
