Early goals doom Orangeville, falls to Georgetown, 9-4

The Georgetown Raiders opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 9-4 over the Orangeville Flyers.

Georgetown's offense rang up 46 shots on Orangeville's net. The Raiders surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Georgetown has scored at the pace of 3.5 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of the Raiders were also effective in the Flyers' zone, and came away with two goals.

Georgetown was helped by Anthony Marra, who registered one goal and two assists. Marra scored 3:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown. John Adams provided the assist. Georgetown also got points from Nicholas Palumbo, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Ryan Smith, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Richard Court, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Liam Board, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Adams, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Steven Mueller, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Georgetown included Tyler MacPherson and Brendan Jacome, who scored one goal each. More assists for Georgetown came via Steve Hladin, who had two, Andrew Court, who had three, and Kyle Allan and Phil Kiss, who contributed one a piece.

Orangeville managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Flyers ended up below its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game.

Orangeville was led by Connor Stack, who grabbed one goal and three assists. Stack scored 13:51 into the second period to make the score 6-1 Georgetown. Emmerson Small picked up the assist. Orangeville additionally got points from Small, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Orangeville also had goals scored by Ryan Anton and Ian APJ Nichols, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Orangeville were Devon Gillham, who had one and Lucas Smilsky, who had three.

Michael Singh rejected 18 shots on goal for the Raiders. Georgetown incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Flyers' Wyatt Pickrell stopped 37 shots out of the 46 that he faced. Orangeville registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
