The xWellington Dukes had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-3 win over the xCobourg Cougars. xWellington surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Dukes average 3.6 goals per contest. xWellington was effective with a man advantage, and put in two goals while on the power play. The Dukes were led by Mike Robinson, who tallied one goal and two assists. Robinson scored on the power play 6:29 into the second period to make the score 3-1 xWellington. An interference penalty on Landon Schiller had put xWellington on the power play. Andrew Coupland picked up the assist. xWellington additionally got points from Luc Brown, who also had one goal and one assist and Trevor Cope, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for xWellington included Chad Thibodeau, Parker Wood, Joe McKeown, and Erick Delaurentis, who scored one goal each. More assists for xWellington came via Abbot Girduckis, who had two and Kyle Paat and Tyson Teichmann, who each chipped in one. xCobourg's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Cougars average 2.4 goals allowed per game. xCobourg was led by Mason Marchment, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Marchment scored the first of his two goals at 3:44 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Marchment's next tally made the score 7-3 xWellington with 3:27 left in the third period. The Cougars earned a power play opportunity when Jacob Panetta was put in the box for slashing. Alex D Oliveira provided the assist. xCobourg also got a goal from Stuart King as well. Other players who recorded assists for xCobourg were Jake Emilio and Conner Hogg, who contributed one a piece. Teichmann rejected 20 shots on goal for the Dukes. xWellington incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors. xCobourg's starting goalie, Nathan Perry, made 14 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Mathieu Ouellet, who stopped one shot. The Cougars incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
