Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots defeated the Toronto Junior Canadiens in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO). The shootout featured six attempts between both teams. Toronto's shootout goal was scored by Cody Thompson. In addition to the clincher, Toronto Lakeshore got a shootout goal from Andreas Tsogkas.The Patriots forced the Junior Canadiens' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 43 shots and forcing 39 saves. Daniel Lopapa made 27 stops and Nathan Colitto made 12. Toronto Lakeshore stifled Toronto's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Patriots were helped by Doug Bonar, who racked up one goal. Bonar scored on the power play 14:05 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Lakeshore. Toronto Lakeshore had taken the advantage when the Junior Canadiens' Colitto got sent off for delay of game. Michael Prapavessis provided the assist. Others who scored for Toronto Lakeshore included Niko Kovachis and Jacob Hayhurst, who each put in one. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Tyler Enns, Marcus Rose, Luke Carter, Robert Powers, and Kevin Shier, who each chipped in one. Toronto was led by Daniel Harquail, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Harquail scored 1:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto. Aaron Thow picked up the assist. Toronto also had goals scored by Mark Spadafora and Thompson, who scored one goal each. In addition, Toronto received assists from Luca Farrace, who had one. Evan Buitenhuis recorded 24 saves for the Patriots. Toronto Lakeshore incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Patriots, Quinn Syrydiuk was ejected from the game. The Junior Canadiens incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
