The Milton Icehawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Burlington Cougars on the way to a 2-1 win.

Milton took a 2-0 lead during the third period, only to have Burlington storm back on a Ryan Wilkinson goal 7:15 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Cougars were stymied by the Icehawks netminder Tyler Lewis, who stopped 26 shots during the victory. Lewis managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.5 prior to the game.

Burlington's power play was ineffective against Milton's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.
