Tanguay, Kingston blank Pickering, 3-0

Sam Tanguay recorded a shutout against the Pickering Panthers as the Kingston Voyageurs picked up a 3-0 win.

Spencer Green had a great game for Kingston, netting two goals. Green scored at 10:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston and again while 12:31 into the second to make the score 3-0 Kingston.

Pickering's power play was ineffective against the Voyageurs' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Kingston's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Pickering power plays. The Voyageurs' defense was surprisingly good. Kingston averages 2.8 goals allowed per game.

Adam Brady also scored for Kingston. More assists for Kingston came via Michael Casale, who had two and Blake ONeill, Brett Seney, Brandon O Quinn, and Jarret Kup, who each chipped in one.

The Panthers could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Pickering puts an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. The Voyageurs were unable to stop the Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and Pickering eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Tanguay rejected 36 shots on goal for Kingston. The Voyageurs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Panthers' Steven Dombrosky stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Pickering incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
