St. Michaels falls to Mississauga in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Mississauga Chargers' Trevor Warnaar scored 4:29 into overtime to beat the St. Michaels Buzzers, 4-3 (OT).

Mississauga got the win with help from a great game by Warnaar, who had two goals and one assist. Warnaar scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 5:53 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Mississauga. The Chargers had taken the advantage when St. Michaels' CJ Shugart got sent off for hooking. Mitch Mehling picked up the assist. Warnaar's next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 Mississauga with 15:31 left in overtime. Lucas Venuto provided the assist.

The Buzzers' power play was ineffective against Mississauga's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Chargers kept St. Michaels' goalie busy throughout the game, and George Argiropoulos made 37 saves on 41 shots.

Mississauga additionally got points from Venuto, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Mississauga also got a goal from Joseph Molinaro as well. In addition, Mississauga received assists from Galli Austin, Zackery Landsfield, Patrick Mooney, and Ayrton Valente, who contributed one a piece.

Mississauga was unable to stop the Buzzers from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Michaels eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

St. Michaels also had goals scored by Luca Doctor and Jake Evans, who each put in one. More assists for St. Michaels came via Stefano Pezzetta, David Italiano, Matt Alvaro, Angelpooulos Peter, and Bron Loiselle, who each chipped in one.

Alex Lepore recorded 31 saves for the Chargers. Mississauga incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Buzzers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For St. Michaels, Ian Edmondson was ejected from the game.
