O Quinn nets hat trick, leads Kingston to 6-4 win over Newmarket

A hat trick by Brandon O Quinn was the highlight in Voyageurs' 6-4 win against the Newmarket Hurricanes.

O Quinn's first goal came 2:06 into the second period. He then added goals at 15:49 into the second and at 9:59 into the third.

The Kingston Voyageurs kept Newmarket's goalie busy throughout the game, and Bo Bessette made 41 saves on 47 shots. Kingston's goal total was higher than its season average. The Voyageurs have scored at the pace of 3.7 goals per game during the current campaign.

Kingston also got points from Brett Seney, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Spencer Green, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Patrick Volpe also scored for Kingston. More assists for Kingston came via Adam Brady, Brett Du Puy, and Michael Casale, who contributed one a piece and Blake ONeill, Michael Crocock, and Jarret Kup, who each chipped in two.

The Hurricanes made Kingston's netminders to work in net, getting 32 shots and forcing 28 saves. Sam Tanguay made 15 stops and Alex Brooks-Potts made 13.

Newmarket was helped by Ian Farrell, who had one goal. Farrell scored 9:33 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Newmarket. Nik Coric provided the assist. Newmarket additionally got points from Brandon Francisco, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Newmarket included Cameron Nicoll and Sam Hu, who scored one goal each. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Adam Smith, Trevor Petersen, Dean Pearlman, and Ryan Kruss, who contributed one a piece.

The Voyageurs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Hurricanes incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
