Lopapa stymies Oakville, Toronto wins 4-1

The Toronto Junior Canadiens relied on the sparkling performance of Daniel Lopapa in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Oakville Blades.

Toronto was sparked by Michael Cuddemi, who grabbed one goal. Cuddemi scored 6:23 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Toronto. Mark Spadafora assisted on the tally.

The Junior Canadiens stifled Oakville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Toronto also got points from Aaron Thow, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Toronto included Will Lawrence and Anthony Repaci, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto were Luca Farrace, Cody Thompson, and Aaron Spivak, who each chipped in one.

The Blades could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Oakville puts an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game.

The Blades were led by Ross Sloan, who scored the team's only goal. Sloan scored 12:36 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Toronto. Greg Allen picked up the assist.

Lopapa recorded 29 saves for Toronto. The Junior Canadiens incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Evan Buitenhuis rejected 24 shots on goal for Oakville. The Blades incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
