Toronto Lakeshore falls to Milton in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Westwood Arena Sat, Dec 07, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Milton Icehawks' Kane Elliot scored 2:15 into overtime to beat the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots, 3-2 (OT). Milton got the win thanks to a great game by Elliot, who had two goals and one assist. Elliot scored the first of his two goals at 17:37 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Milton. Cooper Richards assisted on the tally. Elliot's next tally made the score 3-2 Milton with 17:45 left in overtime. The Icehawks had gotten the advantage when Toronto Lakeshore's Cory Laver was sent off for hooking. Alex Riche picked up the assist. Milton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Milton also got a goal from Shane Bennett as well. Other players who recorded assists for Milton were Jeremy Gottzmann and Ryan Burns, who each chipped in one. The Patriots were helped by Michael Prapavessis, who had one goal. Prapavessis scored 12:59 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Marcus Rose provided the assist. Nathan Feric also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. In addition, Toronto Lakeshore received assists from Tyler Enns, Jacob Hayhurst, and Rory Bell, who contributed one a piece. Tyler Lewis recorded 25 saves for the Icehawks. Milton totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. Team's Richards and Burns were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Toronto Lakeshore's Jeremy Helvig stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Patriots incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
