Georgetown blows out Hamilton, 5-2

The Georgetown Raiders had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the Hamilton Red Wings.

Georgetown was led by Tyler MacPherson, who finished with one goal. MacPherson scored 4:19 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Georgetown. Steve Hladin provided the assist.

The Raiders stifled Hamilton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Georgetown's offense rang up 32 shots on the Red Wings' net.

Georgetown also got points from Richard Court, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Georgetown included Brendan Jacome, Liam Board, and Andrew Court, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Christian Burel, who had two and Gavin Shantz, Nicholas Palumbo, Liam Clare, Scott Emerson, and Luke Sanko, who each chipped in one.

Hamilton's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Georgetown power plays.

The Red Wings were led by Luke Sinclair, who racked up one goal. Sinclair scored 9:59 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown. Niko Porikos picked up the assist. Justin Whitwell also scored for Hamilton. More assists for Hamilton came via Corey Caruso and Josh LaFrance, who contributed one a piece.

Michael McNiven rejected 22 shots on goal for the Raiders. Georgetown incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mark Sinclair recorded 27 saves for Hamilton. The Red Wings incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
