Cobourg completes comeback, beats Toronto Lakeshore, 3-2

The Cobourg Cougars rallied from two goals down to secure a 3-2 win over the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots.

Cobourg never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Cougars was down 2-0 after a goal by Toronto Lakeshore's Kevin Shier at 9:38 in the second period. Cobourg tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Chris Turner at 2:26 in the third period. The Cougars scored the game winner at 4:05 in the third period on a goal by Turner.

Landon Schiller was all over the ice for Cobourg, as he registered two goals in the win.

In addition, Cobourg received assists from Taylor Gauld, who had two and Alex D Oliveira and Mark MacAulay, who contributed one a piece.

The Patriots' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Cobourg power plays. Toronto Lakeshore kept the Cougars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathan Perry made 31 saves on 33 shots.

Andreas Tsogkas also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Lakeshore were Matthew McLeod and Michael Prapavessis, who each chipped in one.

Cobourg incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mark Manolescu made 26 saves for the Patriots on 29 shots. Toronto Lakeshore incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
