North York falls to Cobourg in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Connor Armour gave the Cobourg Cougars a 3-2 (OT) victory over the North York Rangers when he scored 56 seconds into the extra period.

Armour had a great game for Cobourg, netting two goals.

North York was unable to stop the Cougars from sending pucks towards the net, and Cobourg eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Conner Hogg also scored for Cobourg. In addition, Cobourg received assists from TJ Melancon, Alex D Oliveira, Jake Emilio, Ryan OGrady, and Landon Schiller, who each chipped in one.

The Rangers were helped by Valadao Adam, who racked up two goals. Adam scored the first of his two goals at 4:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North York. John Carpino assisted on the tally. Adam's next tally made the score 2-1 North York with 1:23 left in the second period. A checking from behind penalty on Kenzie Smith had put North York on the power play. Patrick Piacentini picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Liam Kerins, who had two.

Nathan Perry rejected 23 shots on goal for the Cougars. Cobourg totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. For the Cougars, Smith was ejected from the game. Gianluca Baggetta recorded 28 saves for the Rangers. North York incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
