Toronto Lakeshore outlasts Newmarket, 3-2

The game between the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots and the Newmarket Hurricanes was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Toronto Lakeshore emerged with a 3-2 win.

The Patriots gained the winning advantage on a goal by Marcus Rose 19:54 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Toronto Lakeshore pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 30 penalty minutes.

The Patriots were sparked by Rose, who finished with one goal.

Toronto Lakeshore additionally got points from Nathan Feric, who also registered one goal and one assist. Andres Kopstals also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Kevin Shier, who had two and Niko Kovachis, Jacob Hayhurst, and Luke Carter, who contributed one a piece.

Newmarket was helped by Trevor Petersen, who racked up one goal. Petersen scored 16:51 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Cameron Nicoll assisted on the tally. Newmarket also got a goal from Kyle Stephan as well. Other players who recorded assists for Newmarket were Adam Smith, Jacob Piltzmaker, and Bo Bessette, who each chipped in one.

Mark Manolescu rejected 28 shots on goal for Toronto Lakeshore. The Patriots registered one goal on two power play opportunities. The Hurricanes' Bessette stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Newmarket incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
