Oakville boosted by McGlynn's play in net, beats Orangeville 2-1Sixteen Mile Sports Complex Fri, Nov 08, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Oakville Blades relied on the sparkling performance of Brendan McGlynn in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Orangeville Flyers. Oakville was sparked by David Dischiavi, who racked up one goal. Dischiavi scored 16:19 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Oakville. Austin Clapham assisted on the tally. The Blades forced Orangeville goalie Taylor Welsh to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Oakville also got a goal from Chris Poletek as well. In addition, Oakville received assists from Greg Allen and Carmine Vietri, who contributed one a piece. The Flyers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Orangeville kept Oakville's goalie busy throughout the game, and McGlynn made 45 saves on 46 shots. The Flyers were led by Brandon Gaudette, who scored the team's only goal. Gaudette scored on the power play 14:26 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Orangeville. Orangeville had gained a power play chance when Keigan Goetz was whistled for hooking. Keegan Ackerland provided the assist. The Blades incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Flyers' Welsh stopped 33 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Orangeville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
