The North York Rangers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots held on for a 3-2 victory. A goal by Luke Carter put Toronto Lakeshore up 2-0 in the first period, but North York pulled to within one on Gabriel Valenzuela's tally 2:21 into the third period. The Patriots were led by Matthew McLeod, who racked up one goal and one assist. McLeod scored 11:04 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Toronto Lakeshore. Doug Bonar provided the assist. Toronto Lakeshore's offense rang up 37 shots on the Rangers' net. Andreas Tsogkas also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. In addition, Toronto Lakeshore received assists from Jack OHara and Jacob Hayhurst, who each chipped in one. North York excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Rangers forced the Patriots goalie Mark Manolescu to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. North York was helped by Matthew Whittaker, who tallied one goal. Whittaker scored on the power play 5:54 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Tye Campbell picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Alex Leader, who had two. Manolescu recorded 33 saves for Toronto Lakeshore. The Patriots incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Toronto Lakeshore ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Rory Bell was ejected from the game. The Rangers' Jason Pucciarelli stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. North York incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
