Toronto Lakeshore downs Kingston, 5-2Westwood Arena Sat, Nov 02, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Kevin Shier finished with one point to lead the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots to a 5-2 victory over the Kingston Voyageurs. Toronto Lakeshore also got points from Andreas Tsogkas, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jacob Hayhurst, who also racked up two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Marcus Rose also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Louis DiMatteo, Niko Kovachis, Luke Carter, Lior Goldenberg, and Rory Bell, who each chipped in one. Kingston kept Toronto Lakeshore's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jeremy Helvig made 34 saves on 36 shots. The Voyageurs' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Kingston is averaging 2.3 goals against for the season. The Voyageurs were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to two goals off of nine man advantages. Kingston was helped by Michael Casale, who grabbed one goal. Casale scored on the power play 11:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Lakeshore. The Voyageurs earned a power play opportunity when Matthew Marchese was put in the box for slashing. Blake ONeill assisted on the tally. Kingston also got a goal from Brandon O Quinn as well. In addition, Kingston received assists from Adam Moodie, Adam Brady, and Patrick Volpe, who contributed one a piece. The Patriots incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Alex Brooks-Potts rejected 25 shots on goal for Kingston. The Voyageurs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
